Thought of the Day

From Genesis 16 to Genesis 17 there is a 13 year gap where God did not communicate with Abram.  For 13 years Abram probably believed he was living out God’s will with Ishmael or at the very least confused by all that was going on.  What caused Abram to miss interpret the voice and direction of God?  There are many reasons that could have and did play a factor, lack of faith, circumstances, impatience, laziness….  These factors had caused Abram to miss out on God communicating with Abram.

How easy it is to point the finger at another mans faults.  The question I ask myself is how well do I distinguish and know God is communicating or trying to communicate with me?  When were the times that I allowed motives, circumstances and my lack of faith confuse me to follow God’s leading or even being able to know when God is trying to direct me in following His path.

Proverbs says, “There is a way that seems right to a man but in the end leads to death.” Seems scary to think that even when it seems like we are doing the “right thing” we may actually be missing out on something better.
